I got featured at Brands and Bobs!

I was lucky to meet Charu —the writer— at MARCHÉ last November where I was a vendor, not only she became a customer but I was delighted when she told me she would include me in her column Brands and Bobs. Charu Subramanian has a deep expertise in brands and marketing and she applies it in her articles where she explores brands and products focusing on female founders.

So, when I tell you I found a sweet that I am OBSESSED with, I am not kidding - it is the best flavor of any sweet or confectionary I have ever had, including all the overly processed ones on the market. I came across Yami Yami at a holiday market. I was drawn to her booth because she had a warm and welcoming presence … and because her booth said vegan sweets, and that’s all I needed to see! She let me sample a couple of flavors, and I was hooked. I bought two packets and proceeded to eat one as I walked around, told my friends who were the fair about it, then took them back to the booth and bought two more bags.

A few weeks later I ordered another keepsake bottle and a couple more pouches to gift for the holidays and they were a great hit. I may have placed my third or fourth order a few weeks ago and hid them so others in the family don’t eat them before me. These aren’t candies per se. They are Pâte de fruit and they are bursting in flavor. What makes these exceptional confectionaries for me is that they are hand-made locally by Yamina, primarily of organic fruit from local farms in California —the majority of them being located in less than a 100 mile radius from Oakland, CA. Yamina has incredible culinary skills and a deep understanding of flavor combinations which results in a luxe taste experience. I can’t stop raving about them. I don’t remember the last time I got this excited about a food item.
