Hey, I won a Good Food Award!
When I started Yami Yami the Good Food Awards were something I aspired too (although I kept missing the deadline for 2 consecutive years) ...not in my wildest dreams I thought my pâte de fruits would be finalist and even less that I would end up bringing a medal home!🏅They are heavier than they look btw.
As everything in confectionery, technique is important but without high quality ingredients I wouldn’t have won this award, thank you Joye & Tony from @inzana.ranch 🍊 for growing this very special Red Blush Grapefruits and to the team of @madremezcal for their tasty and perfectly smoky mezcal.
It was such a fun night in Portland, OR—thank you Sarah for bringing together so many people who not only care about creating the most delicious food but also enjoy eating it.
I also got to meet the talented, hard working (and very funny) women behind @sabajam.sf and @lpelican @primarybeans 😊
Thanks to my bae Andy 💓 (last pic) for designing the best logo that I could ask for, being the delivery man, set up / pop up assistant, photographer, pouch logo stamper, label sticker and, motivational coach...on top of being the best designer!
And THANK YOU ALL who are still supporting me, because if you still do it means we share the same values and it’s just so lovely to not have to hide that part of myself!
