Summer is not gone, yet
I'm a firm believer of enjoying the beauty of the seasons while we can, it helps me with being present. Seeing Halloween pumpkins on retail shelves almost makes me anxious, it's like we are pressured to always keep moving and look at what's next, forgetting the here and now, and this is coming from someone who loves seasonal and festive decor! I believe it's good to feel excited for what's to come, but let's not fast forward 2 whole months and enjoy the last weeks of Summer!
So, what's cooking?
Strawberry & Elderflower Here in the Bay Area we are lucky to have a long Strawberry season, given our late Summers, strawberries show up mid Spring and are seen in the farmers markets until early October. The addition of Elderflower Cordial elevates the flavor with its floral notes. I discovered this cordial during my time living in London, maaany moons ago.
'Spring Bright' Nectarine This is one of my favorite Summer flavors, it's like eating the most perfectly ripe nectarine but intensified. There's a limited amount left as I'll be cooking my final batch next week!
Chamomile Even though it was meant to be just for Spring, I decided I would offer it until the end of Summer, there's something very wholesome about this flavor...some people say it tastes like honey.
Sweet Mint Tea My version of the popular Southern drink, but in a sweetie! Made with a mix of a strong infusion of whole Assam tea leaves (from Alaya Tea) and homemade spearmint syrup.
And soon…Blackberry & Terroir Gin
I spent last week recipe testing this flavor and this time it took me “only” 3 test batches, last year it took me ten!
I persisted because I really wanted to offer this flavor combo.
How would I describe this flavor?
A blend of juicy and slightly tart blackberries with locally made ‘Terroir’ Gin will leave you with lingering botanicals and a palate full of sweet and earthy flavors —a bite into these succulent fruit gems will take you to the lush trails of our beloved Bay Area!
If you haven't tried Terroir Gin from St. George Spirits yet, please note, this is not your typical juniper forward gin, but a complex mix of 12 botanicals which include coastal sage, bay leaf, and douglas fir, perfectly pairing with California grown blackberries. These sweeties will be shipping on Monday 19th of September.
